Barney Schauble

Barney Schauble’s career has focused on re/insurance and catastrophe risk. Mr. Schauble is the Principal at Greenthread, a boutique advisory firm he started after spending twenty years in senior roles at Nephila, an asset manager dedicated to insurance-linked securities. He began working in re/insurance in 1993 as a broker for Marsh and Guy Carpenter before joining Goldman, Sachs & Co. in 1996, where he helped execute the first catastrophe bond. He was Chair of the Board of Ceres from 2017 to 2024 and was a Director at various companies including The Climate Corporation, MetroMile, Advisen, Tremor, and The Production Board. He received his BA in Economics from Harvard University in 1995.
