Laura Schifter, Ed.D., is a senior fellow at the Aspen Institute where she founded and directs This Is Planet Ed and author of Students, Schools, and our Climate Movement: Acting Now to Secure our Future. From 2014 to 2024, she served as a lecturer at the Harvard Graduate School of Education where she taught courses on climate change, education, and policy. She has also worked as a fellow for the Century Foundation, a policy and research consultant, and an elementary school teacher. Schifter earned an Ed.D. in education policy, leadership, and instructional practice from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In 2019, after years working in special education policy, Laura shifted her career to focus on the intersection of education and climate change.
